Our research
The research is focused on investigating the properties of sheet silicate minerals and their surface chemistry. The goal of our research is to understand and be able to predict structural changes and dynamical processes occurring at the mineral–water interface on the molecular scale, which often requires the use of both theoretical molecular simulations and different experimental methods. For the former, the Holmboe group is the developers of the atom script library, a MATLAB software framework for generating and analyzing input and output files for molecular simulations of especially inorganic systems.
